history and height

On Friday morning, we wandered across the famous lock-covered bridge (not so covered any more), had a look at some of the boats on the river, and took too many photos of the Eiffel Tower.

We then spent a few hours at the Musée du Quai Branley, which is full of interesting things. I went too slow and didn't have time for probably half the museum...

We had to leave before the museum closed, because we had reservations to go here...

And eat up there...

Dinner was quite nice, if not spectacular - my impression was that the price is really more about the location than the food. The wait staff all spoke English almost exclusively, even when addressed in French (so, obviously a big tourist spot), and the food choices were all very classic (beef, chicken, etc) in not terribly exciting preparations. However, it was reasonable, the couple at the table next to us was lovely, the view was nice, and we had a good time.

Afterwards, we wandered around a bit, took some photos, and got pretty cold. We were slow wandering in the direction of where we were staying, and got to see the tower all lit up and sparkling (they do it once an hour) and caught sight of the boat we had reservations on.
